    NOAP Call for Board Nominations

    Terms begin at the conclusion of the 2025 Annual Conference

    NOAP is seeking nominations for the following Board positions:

    • President Elect - 6 year term, 2 as President Elect, 2 as President, 2 as Past President
    • Secretary - 2 year term and may serve up to 2 consecutive terms
    • Member at Large – 2 year term and may serve up to 2 consecutive terms

    The Executive Committee (President Elect, Secretary) are limited to members who are employed with an alternative to discipline or monitoring program.

    To encourage diversity among the board, the position of Member at Large is open to any member of NOAP.

    Duties of the President Elect

    • Assumes the responsibilities at the request of, or in the absence of, the President during Board of Directors and Organization business meetings.
    • Carries out those responsibilities delegated by the President.
    • Provides oversight to the standing committees.

    Duties of the President

    • Officiates at Board of Director meetings and general Organization meetings.
    • Maintains communication with committees of the organization.
    • Able to sign checks.
    • Serves on the Board of Directors for the two years following his/her term of office.
    • Appoints members to committees as needed after consulting with the Board of Directors.

    Duties of the Past President

    • Shall serve in a consultative capacity to the Board, advising in matters as required.
    • Chair the Nominating Committee.

    Duties of the Secretary

    • Carries out those responsibilities delegated by the President. Records, maintains and distributes to the membership minutes of all organizational meetings.
    • Maintains a current roster of the membership of the Organization, its committees and other essential documents.

    Duties of the Member at Large

    • Represent the interests of their respective constituencies.
    • Carries out those responsibilities delegated by the President.

    Key Dates and Nomination Information:

    • Nominations are due by April 18.
    • Nominees must include a 1 paragraph biography, including qualifications and a statement of their interest in serving to the NOAP Executive Office with their nomination. (Limit 200 words).
    • The voting period is April 21 to May 2, successful candidates will take their positions at the conclusion of the 2025 Annual Conference.

    ARTICLE VI. Officers

    Section 4. Functions of the Board of Directors

    1. The control and administration of the corporation is vested in the Board of Directors, and it shall act for the corporation between annual meetings. The Board shall have full and complete power and authority to perform all acts and to transact all business for and on behalf of NOAP. It shall conduct and manage all property, affairs, work, and activities of NOAP, subject only to the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, and to resolutions and enactments of the members passed at the annual membership meeting. The Board shall be the fiscal agent of NOAP, and shall report annually to the membership.

    2. Public Policy Statements: A “public policy” shall be defined as the official public position of NOAP on a substantive health-related matter. “Substantive” matters are those which may be reasonably expected to affect the member programs when dealing with their participants, state regulatory agencies, other health care providers, health-related special interest groups, governmental bodies, and the public. The Board is the official public policy-making body of NOAP.

    ARTICLE V. Board of Directors

    Section 1. Board Composition and Eligibility

    1. The Organization shall have six (6) elected officers: President, President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and two (2) Officers-at-Large.

    2. The Board is comprised of the eight (8) Elected Officers and one (1) Past President.

    3. Only members and associate members, can be nominated and serve as officers. The Board of Directors positions (President, President Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, Past President) shall be filled by current Directors or Staff of an Alternate to Discipline Program.

    4. No program or company entity shall be allowed more than one board member, serving concurrently.

    5. The President OR President Elect shall officiate at all Board meetings.

    6. Board meetings are open to all members.

    Section 2. Board Elections

    1. All elections shall be conducted under the authority of the nominating committee.

    2. Elections shall be conducted every year, and ballots shall be sent to each eligible voting member 30 days prior to the annual meeting.

    3. Organizational officers shall be duly elected by a majority of the ballots cast.

    • Members (login required): between $400 - $485 per person based on membership and the # of attendees, see the options on the registration form.
    • Non-Members: $525 - $550
    • Early registration ends on 31-January

    Notes & Policies

    Attendee Cancellation Policy (attendees):

    On or before April 15: 90% of total registration fees. After April 15: No refunds due to cancellation. Early registration ends on 31-January.

    Sponsor Benefit, Payment & Cancellation Polices (sponsors):

    Sponsorship benefits cannot be provided until payment is received in full. Sponsorships benefits cannot be guaranteed for registrations and/or payments received after April 1. Sponsorship benefits available in advance of the conference (eg: logo/link on website/emails) begin on February 5. No refunds due to cancellation, sponsorship will be transferred to the next annual conference.
